Kate is a 500-hour CYT with over 25 years of experience on the mat. Her teaching style is based in the fundamentals of the Iyengar tradition including the use of props to support proper alignment with a focus on yoga therapy. Kate’s initial personal practice of Asthanga and flow yoga, inspires the use of breath throughout the practice to move deeper into the poses and clear the mind. Her training in Thai Yoga Massage and Energy Medicine allows her to bring a holistic presence to the class setting often incorporating techniques she has developed over the last 20 years to support the deepening of each yoga practice. She brings a nurturing presence to the role of instructor while encouraging grit and growth.
During a class with Kate, students will explore standing poses for strength and vitality and seated postures to create space in the large joints and spine. We will utilize reclined poses to move deeper within during the final part of the practice. This class is appropriate for students with physical limitations. Some props will be provided. Feel free to bring your own mat, strap, block and blanket to cushion the wood floors as needed.
